Foot Care

The human foot consists of 26 bones bound together by ligaments, supported by muscles and supplied with blood vessels and nerves. It is therefore subject to considerable strain and injury.

In order to keep your feet healthy and free of injury, follow these basic rules of foot care:

1. Keep your feet clean.
2. Apply moisturiser to dry skin.
3. Avoid using hot water and strong soaps.
4. Dry your feet carefully, especially between the toes, but do not rub hard with a towel.
5. Do not cut corns, callouses or ingrown toenails.
6. Avoid bruises, burns, cuts, cracks and frostbite.
7. Seek immediate professional care for any foot problems.
